Hello everyone,
I just got my first job and I'm struggling to choose a new laptop. My old one barely powers on, so I need something reliable. In the coming months, I'll be working mainly on web development—JavaScript, Node.js, MongoDB, Flutter, Python, TensorFlow, Mediapipe, etc.—plus doing data analysis and machine learning tasks.

I also plan to run programs like Photoshop, SPSS, R Studio, Visual Code, Fusion 360, Blender, and Office.
My budget is about 1200 to 1500€ (buying in Italy).
I want it with good battery life and a lightweight design for easy travel. I’ll also use it for online meetings.
Thanks in advance for your support 🙏

Examine the hardware specifications for the applications you mentioned.
Most manufacturers offer detailed lists such as minimum, recommended, and optimal configurations.
Avoid the "minimal" option and aim for the highest possible specs you can afford.
If several apps demand similar resources—like six needing 8 GB of RAM and a seventh requiring 16 GB—choose the most suitable option.
You should also investigate what your colleagues are using, particularly those handling similar tasks.
Begin with this resource: https://www.tomsguide.com/best-picks/best-laptops
This will help you understand key considerations and suggest laptops that likely fit your needs.
There may be compromises; for example, prioritize durability for travel while keeping devices light and thin.

Take a look at the Lenovo thinkpad x1 carbon.
There are numerous options and many aspects to evaluate.

Hey there,
Yes, you could go for something like this:
Victus by HP 16-e1008nl Gaming Notebook with AMD Ryzen™ 7 - NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 Ti - HP Store (UK)
.
Very strong, cool, and silent CPU (not much fan noise), and is also capable for a littel gaming and cuda work.
Nice balance. Comes with 16gb of ram, and a 1TB ssd. It also has a 144hz panel, which adds to the smoothness factor.

Here are some suggestions for your advice! I’ve begun researching this topic.
Thanks! I used to have an HP laptop about ten years ago and didn’t enjoy its performance (the device began having problems right after the warranty expired), so is HP better now?
Appreciate your response! I was also considering a Lenovo laptop, but my main concern is that the price of the one you mentioned would be around 1800 euros. Would it be more cost-effective to buy a MacBook at that amount? I’ve always used Windows and don’t know if it would be worth going over budget for that. In any case, the Lenovo caught my attention.
