I'm curious about the expected performance of my PC. I was anticipating better results when compiling my parts list, but I noticed that similar systems are often achieving speeds above 300. My setup includes a Ryzen 7 2700x with an OC of 4Ghz, an MSI 2080 GamingX Trio with 8GB RAM, a ROG STRIX X470-F motherboard, Corsair H115i RGB Platinum cooler, and a GSKill Tridentz RGB with 2x8GB RAM.

Let’s begin discussing your expectations.
What resolution are you aiming for?
Which games are you playing?
What frame rate do you require?
How detailed would you like the results to be with these parameters?

Secondly, don’t focus too much on other people’s setups. My older system could reach over 4.0 but never stayed stable long enough to test with an OCed GPU. I still achieved solid scores that way! It needed to run on a standard GPU and 3.8 on the CPU just to be playable.

Are you receiving the experience you expect at the quality you’re comfortable with?
Don’t compare your setup to others’ scores—evaluate based on what you actually get. If everything runs smoothly at default speeds, you’re getting good value and shouldn’t worry about the extra FPS boosts.

If you’re not achieving the experience you desire, consider what kind of performance fits your budget.

the same specs as before, except i don't overclock my cpu and i have a gigabyte windforce card.
i sometimes feel bottlenecked by my cpu in games like csgo, but i don't think there are other problems at all.
i consistently achieve 200+ fps on 1440p ultra in many esports titles.
my frames look normal to me.

2080 for 1080 is clearly incorrect. Even powerful processors like the Ryzen 9 3950X or i7 9900KS can't supply enough power for a 1080p display. Try adjusting VSR or DSR settings, or change the monitor to a 1440p model.

Your 2700X is running at 4GHz and classified as an OC because the boost is 4.3GHz, which means it’s not operating at its standard speeds. Checking 1440p and 1440p UW monitors could significantly enhance your gaming performance.

Why someone should use medium settings at 200fps depends on the hardware limitations. If your display can't handle that frame rate, it won't show the smoothness you expect.

I wasn't aware of 300 Hz monitors in 2019.
Does your monitor run at 240 Hz?
It depends on the game.
