If your preferred distribution isn't listed, just type it in here.

Thanks for your thoughts, I really prefer Debian and Manjaro Debian due to their availability on devices like the Raspberry Pi Zero with minimal power usage. Manjaro also stands out because it's built on Arch and offers a customizable interface. Cheers! Mahyar

I enjoy Ubuntu because it's straightforward to use and comes with strong support. I'm exploring a career in cybersecurity. I already have an A+ certification and am studying Network+, Security+, which might lead me to Kali soon.

I aimed to discover if Ubuntu is indeed the most popular distribution and see what others thought about using older hardware.

Many people favor Arch more than Ubuntu or Debian. I find Arch too particular, I don’t use it much. My preference leans toward Debian, Ubuntu, and sometimes openSuse. What draws me to Ubuntu is its user-friendly terminal commands—most installations are straightforward with simple tools like sudo apt-get install or sudo install. I also appreciate Debian’s convenience; you just download a .deb file and double-click it for instant setup, similar to a Windows EXE. Universal installers (.jar files) are particularly appealing on Ubuntu, where you simply run java -jar [filename.jar] and it’s done. For everyday web browsing, YouTube, or Netflix, I stick with the built-in Chromium OS developer tools since I run Linux on my Chromebook. The only drawback is that Chromium OS feels restrictive regarding security, especially for non-Chrome sources. It’s hard to install anything outside the Chrome Web Store, which limits its appeal beyond basic needs. Personally, I’d say Ubuntu and Debian are the top choices, while Fedora is clearly the worst.
