My ideal CPU would be one that perfectly balances speed and efficiency, capable of handling complex tasks with ease while remaining energy-efficient.

A processor I’ll always use without needing an upgrade.

Never imagined thinking about a computer component, especially a CPU.

Modern CPU options for LGA1366 are available, including a Tualatin Celeron 1.4GHz that fits Slot 1 and works with the Diamond Micronics C400 without BIOS modifications. Installing it on a 440BX system from 2006 would be a significant upgrade over the previous Celeron 333MHz model. Adding a PGA370 1.4GHz Tualatin would be challenging, needing a compatible slot or custom modifications, along with updated BIOS and microcode.

R5 3600... it's a powerful unit with PBO. I usually ran it at around 130W max and never had to throttle because it stayed cool enough. My 5800X3D feels like a weak performer by comparison, even though I think I just won again. It tends to boost slightly above max on multiple cores, which seems impossible according to the internet, but those extra 15Hz bits don't really matter for real performance. Spoiler: the real answer is CELL 2 in "sli" doesn't need a GPU!

My 5900X has been performing well for nearly 15 years. I kept trying to reach 5GHz with Intel, but it never stayed stable. It mostly works fine and even better than expected, though only for short periods.

Looking ahead a bit, I’m keen on seeing a Ryzen 9 8950X3D with 24 cores—eight Zen 5 cores plus V-Cache, and another 16 Zen 5C cores for the second CCD. I’d like AMD to develop smart scheduling for X3D so it runs efficiently and optimally. This would make it a top choice for the next generation of chips. It would deliver lightning-fast gaming, strong single-core results, and amazing performance across multiple cores. The main challenge is getting the scheduling to function perfectly.

10core model featuring no e-cores, 6GHz Intel processor, 3D cache technology, and 32 PCIe5.0 lanes. Not using HEDT.
