what is using my RAM ?!!
Hey everyone, I've been seeing some odd behavior with my RAM on my PC. Even though I have 16GB of RAM, it never drops below 45%. When I check Task Manager, I can't find the exact processes using all that memory, and it's really frustrating because the total usage across all tasks doesn't add up to around 47% of the 16GB. What could be causing this?
Are you sure your computer is detecting all 16 GB of RAM? Occasionally the RAM might appear partially, so it only shows a portion—like just one stick out of two. In Task Manager, go to the Performance tab and then click on RAM to check this.
Discussing system behavior, the OS only consumes physical memory when necessary. Since no application is actively utilizing it, yet the memory remains allocated, it's still in use due to potential future needs. Tools like RAMMap can track such scenarios.
Empty memory means unused space. The operating system removes what it doesn’t require and allocates "free" RAM for things like caching. Just don’t get too caught up in details.
buti experienced frequent performance issues in God of War due to high drop rates. he was running on just 8GB of memory while the remaining space was being utilized, resulting in limited access to the full system resources.
