Looks like a rebranded x86 cpu Maybe they just etched a name onto the IHS

ZXIC mainly produces embedded ARM chips for devices like set-top boxes, closely resembling the Atom design. It might be a licensed version from Intel.

It seems you've been soldered directly onto a board, with exposed rough edges and traces on the sides. After reviewing, I also noticed SMD pads, vias, and silkscreen markings.

Ugh, that doesn't look like a standard socket. It seems like it's been hot glued together.

It's not very obvious, but upon closer inspection it seems to resemble a soldered joint.

It seems like the device is indeed soldered. Regardless, developers are aware of the firmware or board compatibility.
