I'm using Windows 8 and it causes elements to appear from the side of the screen.

Did you create it yourself or purchase it? If you made it, what motherboard was used? Or if you bought it, what brand and model does it have? It seems to function as an app for activating airplane mode—similar to turning off Wi-Fi without a physical switch, though the same features are available on desktops.

It's related to the Asus AI system, but I'm not sure how to get rid of it.

I also had it. It's not Windows 8; it's Asus AI Suite 3. The quick switch feature works. Try right-clicking it—I think that's how I removed it, or you can go to the AISuite3 settings if that doesn't work. Hope this helps.

Perhaps in the lower-right corner, give it another shot if needed. Sorry, I don’t remember how I removed it, but you did. Take your time now, just to be sure. Bye!

Hey, consider removing it if you don’t need it anymore. Since it’s an ASUS Mini Bar or something similar, you can also turn it off at startup. Just uninstall the unnecessary components.

Disable task manager at startup by adjusting the startup settings in your system preferences.
