With a budget around 2k, what options should I look into? Also, would it be more practical to build a laptop on my own? Thank you.

Choose your preferred option based on your budget:

Recommended picks include the top 10 budget gaming laptops reviewed by Notebookcheck.

The only brand offering this is
Framework, though they don’t provide a laptop suitable for gaming.

I haven't made any purchases yet.
Currently, I'm weighing these two options:
- Zephirus g14 WHITE from 2021 (ryzen 7 + RTX3060) for 1000 eur
- ASUS Strix SCAR 15 (ryzen9 + RTX3070) for 1500 eur
I prefer the Zephyrus g14 because it looks very stylish and, besides being a strong gaming laptop, it's portable, lightweight, and could also fit in professional environments.
On the other hand, I think the ASUS SCAR would appeal more to my "nerdy" side:
-CONSIDERATIONS
- The ASUS SCAR's RAM can be upgraded to 64GB (while the Zephyrus g14 only has a maximum of 40GB), which means it might still work in ten years.
- The Zephyrus g14 is smaller and lighter, making it more portable.
- The ASUS SCAR doesn't include an Ethernet port.
- The Zephyrus g14 is less powerful (uses a Ryzen7 instead of Ryzen9 and RTX3060 instead of RTX3070).
