It depends on the features you need. Microsoft Defender functions adequately for its capabilities; yet other providers offer additional security measures like safe web browsers and other tools designed to block harmful files from downloading onto your system.

I usually prefer Windows Defender these days. It’s quiet and doesn’t interfere much. Still, you should apply common sense when choosing an antivirus. I also enjoy using Adblock plus in my browsers and DuckDuckGo as my default search engine.

Windows Defender/Security should suffice.
Maybe Malwarebytes for occasional backup scans and checks.
The main point is to always maintain solid, current backups—readable and recoverable. Just in case...

It's not always nagging you about everything.
Defender plus some working brain cells are usually enough.
You might consider adding uBlock or AdBlock+ for extra protection.

As the person mentioned, Windows Defender is generally not constantly urging you to buy anything. It tends to operate quietly, with occasional scans needed.

Windows Defender works quite well.
I don’t rely on antiviruses such as AVG, Avast, McAfee, or Norton!
(These are actually worse than Windows Defender!)
I’m currently using ESET Smart Security and I’m happy with it.
