I've learned about emulators such as Bluestacks and Nox Player, but I'm curious if they work well on low-end PCs. My friend with a GTX 750 Ti reports they perform poorly and cause lag even after tweaks. Their system includes 6GB DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 2000, and a Core i3 2120.

It varies based on your expectations; certain smartphone games have achieved desktop performance and require a solid system. High-end options like player unknown battlegrounds or Fortnite will struggle on a low-end machine.
I've tried Nox on a budget system, you can adjust the target specs, but your hardware will still be the main constraint. I only played fairly light content and experienced no problems.

I've tried Nox on a budget system, and you can adjust the target specs, but your hardware ultimately determines success. I only played less demanding games without problems.
