I'm a freelance web developer who creates apps and services for a local client. They're considering moving all cloud dependencies away from international providers like Amazon AWS/EC2 to Indian-based companies here in India.

I know AWS already provides local instances in Mumbai and Hyderabad (ap-south-1/2), but they want to eliminate foreign reliance completely for some reason.

My belief is that most Indian cloud services are still in their early stages and mostly act as resellers of global providers like AWS or Alibaba Cloud, making them essentially expensive intermediaries. When I shared this idea, the client asked me to find purely India-based cloud hosting providers that don't rely on external networks.

They're even willing to pay a bit more for hosting if such services exist. Their goal seems to be keeping money within the country and avoiding overseas transfers. If my research doesn’t yield any suitable options, we might still need to stick with AWS but I’d like to explore this further. Do you know of any reliable Indian providers?

Your studies have uncovered certain findings so far. You have pinpointed possible suppliers that align with your needs and those of your client, along with any alternatives that were removed due to specific reasons. The focus has been on understanding the "small premium" budget you're working with. Additional details would assist in clarifying the requirements and limitations more precisely.
