What is the service for replacing keyboard switches?
I completed a detailed cleaning of my Razer BlackWidow keyboard today and observed that the Enter key feels off. I’m unsure if cleaning affected it or if the switch is simply worn from age, given the keyboard is nearly seven years old. Apart from the Enter key, I’m quite satisfied with this keyboard and it’s no longer in stock, so I’d like to have it repaired.
Is there someone who provides a trustworthy repair service that can replace the switch for me?
Thanks!
It might be feasible and probable that someone will offer such a service. The cost could exceed the price of a new keyboard.
Yes, the Enter key issue is resolved, but the "E" fails, and then the "Space bar" fails. Fix.
Fixing this problem generally requires trying various similar keyboards. You can check with stores, family, friends, or at work.
In the end, if you managed to use the Black Widow keyboard for seven years, it seems you’ve earned your "proverbial money" and should consider getting a new one.
Repairs are uncertain.
Experiment with as many comparable keyboards as possible.
Fair enough.
Continue searching in thrift shops, yard sales, etc.
Talk to neighbors, friends, coworkers.
Check eBay as well.
You might find another Razer keyboard that you can disassemble for components.
Replace the Enter key—probably something you can handle yourself.
It wasn't too difficult to inspect the stabilizer bars and keycap alignment, had you already done that? Also, verify whether the switch functions properly. If it responds normally like the others, then focus on locating the stabilizer bars to ensure they're correctly positioned and consider applying a small amount of lubricant.
