My computer starts slowly, taking about three minutes to become responsive. I opened msconfig to check the boot settings and saw the first page labeled "Boot options." I don’t recall their purpose or which one works best, so I’m asking for advice. I’ll attach a picture (it’s in Dutch, but you’ll understand it). I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate.

Open "Opstarten", turn off unnecessary applications, then choose "Selectief opstarten". Expect minimal time unless bloatware significantly slows things down. For quicker startup, consider using an SSD.

Consider using the IO Bits startup manager; it can enhance performance and includes a free version (http://www.iobit.com/en/advancedsystemcarefree.php).

I checked several startup choices and decided on the better one. Likely, I’ll invest in an SSD soon.

Using tools such as IO bit startup manager lets you fine-tune settings, like making Skype start after a 4-second delay. This might add a few seconds to the wait but could simplify your experience while installing the SSD.

Use an SSD (or a PCIe SSD) or open Task Manager, go to Start-up, and turn off any unnecessary items.

I wouldn't choose an SSD just to speed up startup, but with spinning disks you have limited options.

It's not only about starting up. I also enjoy playing many games, and in titles such as Battlefield 4, having an SSD would be very beneficial.
