What is the process for logging out on a malfunctioning computer?
Hello,
My computer is not working properly, it won’t load into Windows 10 Home and the monitor shows a black screen. While using the browser, I logged into Gmail, Facebook, YouTube and other accounts without logging out. Anyone who can access my PC can easily see these accounts and any data inside them. I’m wondering what I should do to log out of these accounts before taking the PC to a repairman.
Thanks.
The system isn't functioning properly. If you can't access the OS, the logged-in credentials won't help much. But if you're worried about the repair shop's intentions, why are you relying on them?
I doubt anyone would open your browser just to check your activities. If you kept your financial details there, it would make sense.
What options exist,
Sign in with a Google account on another device like a phone
Visit
https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity
to view the devices currently logged in
and then log out of that specific device
Your other accounts will stay unchanged but you’ll only be logged out from Google and its connected services (YT, Gmail, etc.)
The same process works with Facebook.
Sign in to Facebook on another device
Go to
https://web.facebook.com/settings?tab=security
Click
'where you're logged in'
Click the three dots beside the device you wish to log out of
Click logout.
Do the same for any other accounts you don’t want your repairman to see
I believe your browser history won’t be impacted, so if that’s what you’re after, I’m sorry blud
🤣
P.S. - Your passwords might already be saved in the browser, so there’s little you can do about it.
