What is the PCIe Errors Recovery Counter?
I took that into account. I was just thinking about it as another option.
That's what I didn't think about since I set every stick to Expo 1 profile. All four are operating at 6000Mhz with CL30-36-36-76 timings. I could try that, but the other option is to run all four sticks at the default 4800Mhz, and the timing isn't as fast as CL30.
If the mistakes continue without the dGPU being present, they probably stem from another PCIe device. It could range from a WiFi card to an NVMe SSD. I experienced a comparable problem with my Intel-based G15 laptop, which was due to the SSD. A BIOS update (several versions) appeared to resolve it. Checking the HWiNFO forum might provide useful details.
I just noticed the Gigabyte Eagle AX is an AM5 PCIe 5.0 board. The RTX 5080 supports PCIe 5.0 and the NVME uses a Fanxiang S770 PCIe Gen 4.0. I think this combination is causing those issues, as both devices are on the same bus line with the CPU. The "resizeable BAR" feature is active, but another Gen 4 SSD likely won’t fix it. It seems I might need a Gen 5 SSD instead.
I recently purchased a Samsung 990 Evo Plus 2TB, which is Gen 4 and also compatible with PCIe 5. I also found it on sale for $130 off its original price of $190.
