I own an Intel DQ57TM with 8GB RAM and an ASUS GT1030 2GB DDR5, paired with an i5 650 dual-core processor.
I’m wondering what upgrade would be more beneficial, keeping in mind the graphics I already have in mind—though I’m just looking for a better gaming experience.
The GT1030 is definitely superior, but the main problem is the extremely slow load times, which are quite frustrating.
Would it be better to upgrade to a quad i5 750?
Or install an SSD (if my board supports it, which I’m not sure about)?
Or both?
I’m not seeking miracles, as I know it’s already quite powerful, but for a budget PC it has lasted a long time...
Thanks.

Switch to SSDs. Choose a reliable B75 motherboard from brands like gigabyte, asus, asrock, or msi. Opt for an xeon e3 1230/1240 or its v2, as these components significantly impact power use and performance.

I was considering the SSD... thanks for the idea, but I've only recently purchased a new board myself lol... I'm okay spending £15 on a 120gb SSD, not upgrading everything again lol... Cheers 👌
