What is the minimum voltage needed for a 6700k overclock?
Hi everyone, the new build is finished. We're running at 6700K with a H100i v2 cooler. The initial overclock reached 4.6ghz at 1.35V on a Viii ranger, and we've been trimming it down by .01V. Temperatures stay well below 70°C even in a 20°C room. We're currently stress testing with Realbench and everything is stable at 1.26V. Should I keep lowering the voltage until it fails, or is there a safe limit I should reach before stopping?
Run a stress test using Intel Burn Test with maximum memory enabled. Only if it succeeds on that configuration would I think it's reliable. My 6700k failed the test at any setting below 1.30, especially when the voltage droop exceeded level 1 on my ASRock Extreme4 board. I adjusted the vcore to 1.30 and the voltage droop to level 1, passing the test at 70°C. Sometimes the stable clock isn't as consistent as you'd expect.

My 6700k failed the test at any setting below 1.30, showing higher than level 1 vdroop on my AsRock Extreme4 board. I adjusted the vcore to 1.30 and vdroop to level 1, passing with temperatures at 70°C. Sometimes the stable clock isn't as consistent as it seems.
