What is the mechanism behind World of Tanks Borderless Mode’s smooth operation, preventing screen tearing?
Greetings!
I’m completely baffled by this game. Specifically, when running in borderless windowed mode, there’s no screen tearing; it performs flawlessly at 120-130 frames per second without any visual artifacts. However, switching to full-screen mode results in severe screen tearing – approximately four to five tear lines – which is completely unacceptable.
My straightforward inquiry is: Why? Why does borderless windowed mode exhibit no tearing? I experience screen distortion with every game I play, regardless of whether it's running in full-screen, borderless windowed, or bordered windowed modes.
Naturally, I anticipate responses like “just play in borderless and be finished,” but unfortunately, I can’t utilize borderless mode due to my dual monitors with differing refresh rates (a 1050 Ti) – a well-documented issue where the primary monitor's refresh rate drops to match the secondary monitor when video or animations are displayed on that second screen. The only viable option is to play in full-screen.
Close any remaining unlocked windows and designate the screen displaying the active game as the main display. This resolved the issue for me.
