Is it true that the updated Nvidia App Beta eliminates the ability to capture your webcam? I haven't located any details about this.

Hey there,
I think you're right. Having just looked there, I see no option to record the webcam. From desktop, yes. From Webcam, no, not as far as I can see.
Now, it is in beta, but the new version is coming out in a matter of days. Check back then to see if the option returns.

Hey there,
Just a quick note. While navigating the app, I found out you can download Nvidia Broadcast from the home screen, acting like an add-on. You just install it on top of the app, which then offers options such as webcam. Let me know what you think.

Hey man! So I had Broadcast before installing the beta, uninstalled it and installed it again using the app, still no option to record it? Did you actually manage to record the webcam?

It's not necessary to use it much, but it appears quite simple. Just pick the Webcam from the available choices, and it should function properly.

Yeah it doesn't function that way. Broadcast worked properly with GForce Experience but not with the new Nvidia Beta App. In Experience you just began recording, and if you wanted to use your webcam, you selected it in the overlay and it operated as intended with the available features. The new Nvidia App didn't interfere with this. Sure, Broadcast is functional and you can open the app, but if you have any other application running on top of it, your webcam remains within the broadcast area and doesn't record. This makes sense since the option to record wasn't enabled in the new overlay.

I determined this by checking the settings within the Broadcast feature using the Nvidia App.

Opening Nvidia Broadcast with or without the Nvidia App is irrelevant, what matters is the Overlay, there is no Overlay option to select broadcast as a webcam source, Broadcast acts as a webcam source not as a broadcasting tool per se, the Overlay needs to have an option to where you can select Broadcast as the source of your webcam, which does not exist at this time, if you manage to record your gameplay with a webcam using the new Nvidia App ''''Overlay''''' please do tell, using broadcast really is kind of irrelevant the point here is there is no Overlay option to add your webcam, with or without Broadcast.
EDIT: Previously in GeForce Experience you could just select your webcam it didn't have to be Broadcast, I use Broadcast because it has settings like removing the background without using a greenscreen but again, broadcast is irrelevant to this conversation overall, the point here is there is no ''Overlay'' option to select a webcam.
