Good evening,
I recently upgraded from my old NZXT AIO to a new Hyte Y70 case and also added four new fans. After the change, I’ve experienced a significant drop in FPS during games (retail versions of WoW and D4). I’m struggling to understand what might have caused this issue. I’ve tried reseating and reapplying my CPU and AIO multiple times without success. Checking temperatures via CAM and hwinfo shows the CPU stays at 75°C max and GPU at 60°C max, but it feels like the system is throttling itself. All BIOS settings are set to defaults except XMP, which is enabled, and there’s no over or under locking active. I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered similar problems, or what adjustments I should make. I have a 1000W gold Asus PSU, and a watt calculator suggested the system shouldn’t exceed 899W. Could adding these fans be pushing the power supply to its limit? I’m open to sharing photos or confirming specs if needed.

PC details:
CPU: Intel I9-139000K
GPU: Gigabyte 4090
Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX
PSU: Asus 1000W gold
RAM: G.skill 32GB DDR5 (2 x16GB)
Memory: x2 Samsung 1TB
AIO: NZXT Kraken Elite 360
Fans: 7 Corsair 120mm

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Note: Asus 1000w gold
Do you have any units with 1KW capacity and an 80+ Gold efficiency rating? Which one? How long has your PSU been in use?
Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX
Is this the model you're using?
Link: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z79...-AX-rev-10
Are you currently running a specific BIOS version for your board?
Fans: x7 Corsair 120mm fans
Corsair offers several fans; can you share a link to them?
But it seems like thermal throttling might be happening.
It could help to show photos of your internal setup with the new fans. If the fans are limiting your GPU performance, try removing them and see if it improves things.
Use DDU in Safe Mode to clear all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia), then reboot and install the newest driver from Nvidia's support site via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator.

Note: PSU: Asus 1000w gold
Asus offer several units with 1KW capacity and an 80+ Gold efficiency rating—do you have one? What is the age of your PSU?
ROG Strix 1000G (model listed on the box)
PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM are all around 3 years old
Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX
Is this the board you’re using? If yes, what BIOS version are you running for your motherboard?
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z79...-AX-rev-10
Is this the model you have?
I updated the BIOS through GCC a few weeks ago and believe it’s FM. I’ll verify this after finishing dinner.
Fans: x7 Corsair 120mm fans
Corsair has several fan options—here’s a link to one of them:
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/cas...20...9051018-ww
But it seems like the thermal throttling might be happening.
It could also help to share photos showing your PC/fan setup. If you suspect the fans are limiting GPU performance, try removing them and see if it improves things.
Attached are pictures of my PC/fan configuration: note that the three intakes below the GPU are for intake air, and the AIO at the top is an exhaust. I’ll unplug the fans and test after dinner.
Consider using DDU in Safe Mode to clear all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia), then reboot and install the latest driver from Nvidia’s support site via an elevated command—right-click the installer > Run as Administrator.
Sorry, I’m not familiar with DDU. Is there a tutorial on how to do this?

My current bios version is FM. I disconnected the new fans and tried to start it, but it didn't help. Also, I'm still unsure about removing all drivers and doing a fresh installation.
