I have no experience assembling computers. My computer has been with me for a long time, so I’m unsure if it has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port. I need that for the 4K capture device I received. (It actually uses USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, but my PC doesn’t have a USB-C port, so I had to use another cable.)
I’m a bit worried. There are two USB ports on top that are faster, and the back has many USB ports mainly for USB 2.0.
Is it simple or complicated to replace the USB parts? I might want a repair shop to swap some ports to get the newer 3.2 Gen 2 USB ports, but I’m not sure how that would work.

Just altering the physical port isn't sufficient. You must modify the microcode and firmware within the motherboard's BIOS to handle it.

I know nothing about putting together computers. I've had my computer for so long, I doubt it has usb 3.2 gen 2 on it. I want that for a 4k capture recording device I got.

I'm kinda scared. There's 2 usb ports on top that are faster, and the back of the computer has a lot of usb ports that are mainly usb 2.0
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

If it's a desktop, you might simply insert a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) card and include 7 or 8 additional ports. The only drawback of this approach is that you won't be able to boot from those extra ports.

The simplest method to achieve quicker USB ports is via a PCI-E to USB add-on card. For example, this device provides your 2x type-C ports at 10 Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen2). You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-PCIe...B087G7T234. However, changing USB ports on the MoBo isn't possible without modifying its microcode. If you need faster USB ports on the back I/O, consider replacing the MoBo with a newer model.
