What is the best thermal paste for my 5900x?
I upgraded my PC and wanted to know the optimal thermal paste for my CPU. I aim for the lowest long-term temperatures and want to avoid any issues from liquid metal. I’m considering the 8750H processor for my laptop, which has been running hot at around 92°C. Kryonut is an option I’ve heard about, but I recall it can raise temperatures over time. My system includes a 5900X, RTX 3080, X570, and other components.
Noctua NT-H1 offers solid performance too. Arctic MX-4 matches Noctua's thermal paste quite well.
Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut is a gallium-based liquid metal that conducts electricity, which might harm your CPU if spilled. Kryonaut does not conduct electricity, so it's safe to handle.
It offers the top performance among all thermal pastes, though you should reapply it roughly once a year.
