What is the best system compatible with my RTX 4070?
Hello my friends,
I purchased an RTX4070 and have two computers: one with a Ryzen 5 3600 and another with a very old Core i7 4790k (which was quite powerful back in 2015!)
SYSTEM AMD
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
SYSTEM INTEL
CPU: Core i7 4790k
RAM: 16GB DDR3
The question is: which system should I install the RTX4070 in?
The RAM on the AMD setup is DDR4 instead of DDR3, though the difference might not be huge.
After deciding on one of these systems for my graphics card, I plan to upgrade with another 16 GB or more of RAM.
I believe the AMD configuration makes more sense, even though it wasn’t the fastest CPU at the time, it’s still better than the old i7 4790k. But you know I have a strong attachment to that 4790k!
What do you think?
The Ryzen 3600 performs significantly better than the 4790K. Additionally, you can upgrade the CPU in an AMD setup to a Ryzen 5000 series, which offers much greater speed. Another consideration is the quality of the power supply unit; it's likely the AMD system has a superior PSU.
