So I have an Intel i7-4790k inside a NZXT S340 mid tower case. I’m thinking about overclocking and need to decide between an air cooler or an AIO cooler. I’ve heard AIO coolers give better cooling but are noisier and risk leaks, which could harm my parts. Air coolers are quieter and safer, though I’m unsure if they’ll fit well with my RAM (G-Skill Ripjaws X series) or the case design. I also want to keep things looking good, since there’s a window on my case. My preference is red/black, so I’m familiar with the look.

Errrrr. List the concerns clearly.
AIOs are dependable. Choose based on the OC and constraints.
Don’t dwell on what others say—search for answers.
Opinion. Custom loops are problematic.
Other options remain available.

There isn't a single optimal cooling method. Choose the one that suits your specific needs.
