PCIE lanes are compatible with Intel's chipset. The AMD processor doesn't change this, but your setup with a 9700 and a 5700X will work as long as the PCIe lanes meet the requirements. Your configuration supports 12 lanes, which is standard for that chipset.

it influences gaming because graphics cards that use direct lanes are detailed in the specs for each device. for an i5 9700 it supports 16 pcie 3.0 lanes directly from the cpu, typically in the first pcie slot for a graphics card. when you pair a dual graphics card and the motherboard allows it, they usually split into 8 lanes per x16 slot. just check the information you found online, like this article: https://cotscomputers.com/blog/pcie-lanes/

The 9700 includes 16 PCIe lanes directly. The chipset contributes a variable number of these. Adding or removing lanes from the chipset doesn’t necessarily affect gaming performance.
