What is LTE
What is LTE
LTE refers to a technology aimed at evolving 3G systems to align with 4G specifications.
Yup, and now because people think LTE means it's 'advanced' companies don't want to switch to just saying 4G even though we now have a true 4G experience
I hadn't noticed WiMax much, honestly. If I recall correctly, it faded into the background after LTE became the main focus for real 4G, and interest in it dropped significantly.
They believed WiMax offered better performance back then. But LTE is built on GSM technology. This makes LTE more "open" in standards. Only Sprint and Clearwire implemented it, and Clearwire ceased operations in 2013. Later, Sprint moved to LTE. In my view, that’s one of the factors behind their decision to change direction. They had to adapt, but it didn’t turn out well for them.
