I need to assemble a gaming and software development computer, so it must be extremely fast for computing tasks yet great for games. For the GPU, I think a 5060 Ti with 16GB should work, but I’m unsure about the CPU since there are many choices. My budget is about 300 dollars. If a better option exists for a bit more, I can consider it. Thank you.

The budget should be approximately 300 dollars. If a better choice exists for a slightly higher amount, I can adjust accordingly.
Consider this link: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3hyH99/...0000910wof
You should aim for a fast computer for gaming and software development, needing strong performance for both tasks.
What resolution would suit your needs?
Which game titles should challenge the system?
What is the intended purpose of the software development app?

Don't develop a system in isolation, considering only the CPU. Include components like motherboard, RAM, PSU, etc. Begin by posting in the Systems forum: *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice*. This was inspired by many recent requests for upgrade guidance, both here and on CPU forums, and I wanted to share this resource.

You could consider the Intel ultra 245 or 265 processors.
They are very power efficient.

It seems you're questioning whether another processor might have been involved, while also noting that Intel CPUs are not very power-efficient.

Likely options include a 9600X and an 9060XT for good value and energy efficiency. The 9700X fits within your budget. The next models are the 9800X3D, costing around 350. For GPU performance versus power, the 9060XT outperforms the 5060Ti despite using about 20W more. At 1440p, they’re comparable, but at 1080p it’s about 5% slower. With the 5060Ti, be mindful of motherboard compatibility—only an x8 PCIe interface, which is one generation less than the 9060XT. This could lead to memory problems if you use a PCIe 4 board.

You’d need to check the documentation. The B650E and X boards are all PCIe 5. This problem applies specifically to the 5060Ti model.

I don't grasp the situation if your motherboard supports PCIe 5.0.
