I7 9700k versus 9700k – the k version seems superior, though some reviews highlight its advantages for editing tasks.

None of the above. LGA 1151 is dead. Either wait for Zen 3 or get a Ryzen 7 3700X. It's equivalent to the 9700KF in games, performs better in virtually everything else and rubs much cooler, uses far less power and has better security

Same processor model, just one is secured while the other remains open; settings differ between stock configurations. I think the non-K version runs at 4.4GHz compared to the K's 4.7GHz. The single-core performance isn't a big deal in practice. They'll be quite alike during gaming, but neither is a genuine I7.
