What is a TPM, and why would you want one?
I’ve heard the term mentioned before, and while my motherboard includes a header for it, its purpose isn’t clear. A TPM is a secure chip that helps protect your system’s data and software integrity. It ensures that sensitive information remains safe from unauthorized access. You’d want one if you value security and want to safeguard your device more effectively.
It functions as a tangible component for two-factor verification combined with BitLocker. Essentially a physical key, it confirms whether the device belongs to you. Without the required authentication parts, access to the storage data becomes impossible.
