You're wondering whether other parts of your computer can handle the 8GB RAM requirement.

Sorry mate, but I wouldn't suggest trying it at all. With these specs, you might manage around 10-15 FPS, though that's not certain. Star Citizen will be tough once it launches, and the current alpha isn't optimized for speed. You'll likely need powerful hardware to run it smoothly—probably something much stronger than your setup. I think it's best to skip pledging right now and upgrade instead. A decent used 2500k CPU with a GTX 770 would work fine, but your current rig is just too weak.

It's also in very early alpha at the moment, and most of the promised features are still not playable. If you want to play this game when its actually "done," you've probably got years. Plenty of time to cobble together a better PC.

Yeah, I’m just a teenager and heading to Washington D.C. for class. I don’t have cash right now, so I’ll wait for my brother to help me out with some parts from his old computer. It might be a bit silly, but I’m hoping he can assist. I’ll share a photo if that works out.

Star Citizen is a space simulation title still in Alpha development since 2011. It has attracted more than $120 million in funding from supporters eager for its launch. Yes, that’s correct—people have contributed significantly to its growth. Despite being only in Alpha, the project has gained substantial attention and investment. Many are excited about its potential, comparing it favorably to popular titles like CoD4:MW1, CoD:WaW, and CoD:MW2. The community around Star Citizen is strong and passionate, and I believe it can sustain itself even if the developers never release a polished version. This is what fans expect when they invest their time and money into a project.

They began preproduction over six years prior, with the actual production starting in January 2013. That means four years have passed since the initial start. Please verify the details before accepting any claims.

Pre-production forms part of the game creation process. Building something requires a clear concept first. One former colleague from EA Vancouver contributed to Mass Effect 1 by providing concept art and storyboards. The team was based in Edmonton, following reports from BioWare. Official work started in 2004, with no public announcement during early stages.

Chris and Ortwin launched Cloud Imperium Games in 2011, investing a million dollars personally. Despite not being officially registered until late 2012, Chris had been passionate about the project for years. They released a demo in October 2012 to aid their Kickstarter effort, along with promotional content.

Creating a game from scratch—especially with significant personal investment—is rare today. Focusing on the dedication behind the project is what matters most. My main point was to remind OP @catzambia to consider the facts and assess the game's potential. I meant to gently question the funding level relative to other long-development titles, as discussed here.

I have limited interest in Star Citizen at the moment, but I’m hopeful it will improve if it launches. My goal was to encourage OP to spend some time researching before making a judgment.
