They might succeed if they weren’t too lazy. The PS3 included an entire PS2 module to recreate PS2 games, and certain versions worked backward.
It happened because the PS2's Emotion Engine CPU was quite similar to Cell compared to x86. If we could emulate Cell to x86, we'd likely have PS4 emulators already.
Of course they aim to profit you, idiot. They’re not there to help. They don’t owe you anything. Their sole purpose is to generate more money. You can cry about your "consumer rights" and claim you deserve no such treatment, but really you’re just venting to indifferent crowds and a few who’ll join you in mocking corporations. If you keep going, you might fill it up—but then you end up with a lot of empty bottles and only a handful of people to share them with.
I own around 40 items, yet just a few—often just one or two—are actually used.
