What happens if the CPU overclocking process doesn't start up?
I'm checking if overclocking the CPU causes the system to fail to boot. Will I need to reset the CMOS each time, or will the BIOS automatically restore the factory settings? The CPU in question is a Ryzen 3 1200 on an ASRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4 motherboard. I'm just confirming this.
Hi, when overclocking doesn't work, the system often restarts or crashes, giving you another chance to adjust the BIOS settings. POST failures are uncommon. The BIOS won't reset by itself unless your CMOS isn't functioning correctly or you've enabled an auto-reset option. You might try using a CLEAR CMOS jumper if your motherboard includes one.
Hi, If overclock fails, the system usually restarts/crashes, so you can change bios setting again. Failure to POST happens rarely. Also, bios won't reset on its own, unless your cmos is not working properly or you have set some kind of auto-reset setting. You could use CLEAR CMOS Jumper if your motherboard has one.
Happy Overclocking.
