What happened to the i3-12300?
Looking into a new budget build centered on the Core i3-12300 has been on my mind. I came across several reviews and specs online, including links from AnandTech, TechPowerUp, and Intel’s own site. However, it seems these parts aren’t currently available for purchase on major retailers like B&H, Amazon, or Newegg. I’m hoping they’ll become accessible soon, particularly at B&H since they carry the Asus motherboard I intend to use.
The 12300 location is unusual, nearly matching the 12400F with an extra core but offering little performance boost over the more affordable 12100, which is available on Amazon.
It's a much more affordable option with similar functionality. Alternatively, you can pay an extra $10 for the 12400 to receive double the CPU power—essentially a budget-friendly choice.
