I assumed this forum would attract a wide range of gamers. It turned out to be a great spot to discuss Starcraft 2. Around the end of WoL, it felt like the game was finally getting the attention it deserved. There were real discussions about network partnerships and even ESPN aired a segment about it. But things fell apart after HotS launched, causing the game to drop significantly. What did everyone think was wrong? Are these strategy games fading away as MOBA titles rise? Could LotV still be relevant?

I didn't enjoy the game, perhaps viewers grew tired of watching it.

It didn't crash after all. You might have misremembered the details.

IMO for me its dying since there is not much Dev going on, How stupidly long have we been playing the same game. They have realeased two new games in the time and still no units or anything. I got very over it from that point. CS;GO is where its at with esports ! !

E-sports as we know it faded because team-based games are way more entertaining to watch. Real-life examples include hockey, football, basketball, Dota, CS:GO versus snooker, tennis quake, and StarCraft with friends. People enjoy seeing teams work together, which is much more engaging. I believe Blizzard might bring back Sc2, and a future expansion focusing on 2v2 could be exciting.

The game was meant for experts, offering little enjoyment to ordinary people.

Riot put significant effort into growing the e-sports scene for LoL. CS:GO is straightforward and showcases their skill clearly. SCII is older, making it harder to grasp what's happening since you need to understand the game mechanics, which can deter new viewers.

New ideas appeared. I'm in favor of watching team matches instead of solo battles.

From a general perspective, those clan versus clan matches were genuinely quite engaging for me. They offered deeper understanding of each player's character.
