Hey everyone, just wanted to share that I'm a content creator who uses my PC beyond just gaming. Over the past few years, I've been doing well with a 2-year-old laptop (3080 Ti / 12900h) for rendering and video work. I'm considering upgrading to a desktop now. For this budget, I think I can afford either the 14900KF with an RTX 4090 or the new 9950X3D with an RTX 5080. I plan to play at 2K/1440p and will also get a new monitor. Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If these options match your budget, I would choose the RTX 4090 without hesitation. It outperforms the 5080 in both games and content creation. The 14900KF is better suited for content creation. Just ensure your BIOS is updated to the latest version. Also, confirm the 14900KF is a new CPU in its original packaging. Reference Intel 13th and 14th gen instability for further information.

It would be suitable for a re-certified system with those specifications, though they offer an excellent warranty program, which is a plus.

Obtain 9950x with 4090, x3d is excessive.

I rechecked the main post and noticed the "14900kf+4090" isn't labeled as "brand new." I won't purchase a second-hand 14900kf because of warranty rules, so the only option is 9950x3d+5080.
Maybe wait another half month? Then there should be many MSRP 5080 available.

It's not a used item; it's a re-certified product from a trusted manufacturer, backed by a solid warranty.
