I just assembled a new computer. Looking for games similar to Far Cry Primal, involving animals, dinosaurs, etc. My kids enjoy them too. Thanks!

There are many comparable games available. Second Extinction is a great shooter, although it remains in early access. You might also enjoy some PC titles, even if they aren't all shooters—some feature dinosaurs, animals, and others focus on simulation or strategy.

I’m uncertain if these options match your preferences for you and your children, but you can look them up on Google for more details.

Other suggestions include Jurassic World Evolution 2, Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Reborn, theHunter: Primal, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, TUROK, Monster Hunter: World, Parkasaurus, Saurian, The Sims4 with Cats and Dogs, Planet Zoo, Cat Quest II, Dino Crisis 2/3, Animal Simulator, AWAY: The Survival Series, and PREHISTORIC KINGDOM (2022).

Prehistoric Kingdom is a dinosaur management game inspired by Jurassic Park, where you oversee a zoo for extinct species, designing habitats to keep them comfortable. While dinosaurs are central, the game also involves managing various creatures such as Woolly Mammoths, Wolves, Sabre Tooth Tigers, and prehistoric birds. The game currently features around 20 wildlife species.

The Isle
- Located in an unusual area due to its current development status, the Isle features two distinct branches on Steam:
1) Legacy: the original version of the game, which has bugs and some rough edges. It offers basic gameplay but might be enjoyable if you enjoy running around as a dinosaur.
2) EVRIMA: an ongoing remake with more polished mechanics and improvements. Although still in development, it lacks much content and only has a few dinosaurs available to play. However, since it's being updated, new features are regularly added, which keeps things interesting.

Ark: Survival Evolved
- This game is considered a poor design choice overall. It's an enormous title with significant optimization issues, but custom modifications can turn it into a rewarding experience. It has become the most played game on Steam for many reasons, including its 750-hour playtime.

Primal Carnage: Extinction
- A first-person shooter centered around dinosaurs versus humans. Despite being outdated (still compatible with UE3) and having a shrinking player base, it remains an entertaining option. It offers various classes and playstyles, decent dinosaur models, and animations, and is still receiving updates despite its age.

Prehistoric Kingdom
- A park-building game praised for its high detail and control. It features excellent animal models and animations with a large selection of creatures. It's not a fast-paced title, making it ideal for players seeking a more relaxed and immersive experience.

This seems to be a still-developing project. While browsing the Steam Planet Zoo, I decided to buy it right away (just trying).
