What Games For My New PC?
I own a recently assembled system built about a month ago (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/96JV3C) featuring an i7-6700K OC at 4.5 GHz, 16GB RAM and an EVGA 980 Ti. While I still play Quake Live, the same game I used to enjoy on my old machine, it feels a bit dated compared to modern titles. The only fresh releases on my list are the upcoming Doom on May 13. Looking for other strong graphical experiences this year? I tend to avoid RPGs like Diablo or World of Warcraft because they can become repetitive. Battlefield 4 seems to be holding up well, especially if you enjoy first-person shooters and immersive simulations. I’m also interested in games with a 3D visual style. Regarding EA’s Earth & Beyond MMO, it appears the original version was discontinued shortly after launch. I’m curious if there’s a current alternative that offers similar features without a subscription model, such as Eve Online. I’ll consider purchasing games but prefer not to commit to monthly payments. I also remember enjoying Need For Speed racing titles with hands-on controls, though EA often releases newer versions that require updates. It seems like a recurring theme with the company. What should I focus on next?
BF4 performs well across Europe, remains active, and continues to be enjoyable to play.
GTA 5 remains popular and enjoyable for years to come, lasting about four years! You're welcome to join if you'd like (prokeero100). Universe Sandbox is an engaging simulation game I enjoy playing; it costs around $25. Hope this assists you!
You might want to check out No Man's Sky, arriving in June. Elite: Dangerous is solid too. GTA V tends to be a reliable choice, and planetside 2 is worth a try—it's free and still looks decent despite being three years old.
I found a game not long ago called Subnautica—a thrilling experience about crashing onto an alien ocean. It’s a survival game set in an extraterrestrial sea, though like most early access titles it hasn’t been polished yet. I’d advise against buying early access games ever again, as they rarely make it past that stage. Still, I suggest giving it a try; it’s entertaining and can be quite unsettling depending on your comfort with dark, mysterious underwater environments. It won’t heavily tax your system. For other titles I like, CS:GO is solid for straightforward FPS action, while XCOM 2 and the latest Dark Souls 3 are also worth checking out. With your current setup, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy.
