fortnite is the game, fortnight refers to a two-week period.
On the topic, I’ve been enjoying "Sonic Ball," a racing game parody on Sonic with an arcade feel. It’s fun without unnecessary additions.
OpenTTD is likely my favorite tycoon game—it’s essentially an open-source version of the original.
But beyond that, I now have a large collection of paid games, so I don’t usually search for free options.
To be honest, I checked if Rocket League was free the last time, but it wasn’t.

I play World of Tanks, began it in mid 2016, and now I've reached about 11k battles. With that amount of combat it's still seen as a newcomer by most players, unless we hit 30k or more. In standard matches it's 15 vs 15, but in some modes it can go up to 30 vs 30.

It seems like the game has started to regain momentum after a period when it seemed to have faded.

surviv.io is a browser-based top-down battle royale. I just started playing and it's quite enjoyable. It drops you into the middle of the game, so you don't have to wait for a match to begin. Battlerite offers a 3v3 arena match, and they recently added a battle royal mode.
