What features need improvement? [SOLVED]
What features need improvement? [SOLVED]
I arrived today seeking advice on what upgrades I should consider. The system is currently used for gaming and is gradually moving toward self-hosting, including a Plex server, shared file server, and game servers.
I realize the most immediate need is more storage—significantly more. Any suggestions? Regarding the CPU, is this the optimal choice for gaming now, or should I look into an upgrade? The cooling setup looks adequate, and I prefer avoiding water cooling.

I have case fans, though I’m not sure what they do, but they perform well and occupy unused space.
As for budgeting, I’m uncertain if I have a flexible range with this setup ($700-$1000).
You could replace the processor, motherboard, and RAM or simply install a dual-channel DDR4-3600MHz RAM setup to maximize your system's performance. However, where do you think you're missing something, since right now I believe you already have a solid foundation that will serve you well for a long time. I would suggest adding storage to the build.
I'm not experiencing any problems at all; the build is progressing smoothly and temperatures are well controlled. Exploring self-hosting is consuming a lot of storage space. I was thinking about installing a storage rack, but my GPU interferes and the case isn't ideal for it. As someone who collects a lot of data, I have terabytes stored on HDDs in boxes. I currently have a hot-swap setup for the HDDs since building a rack in the case isn't feasible. I'm seriously looking into a NAS connected to my PC, but it's quite expensive.
I have a Dell PowerEdge with Windows Server 2016 installed, and I want this current build to take control of everything on my other computer and the Dell machine. Technically, it's mine, but the company allows me to use it for sandboxing, so I need everything removed so I can reinstall it later.
The X3d suffix processors are considered top for gaming, provided you're focused solely on that.
Increasing the cache improves single-thread performance significantly.
Other tasks will not match the efficiency of the main processor (R7-5800).
Switching to a 5950X would cost around $380.
Regarding RAM, Ryzen is quite sensitive to compatibility issues.
Avoid adding extra RAM; instead, upgrade with a compatible, verified kit.
Check your motherboard’s or vendor’s RAM specifications and purchase only the exact model.
For better results, consider switching to a platform supporting AM5 or Intel LGA1700.
If your case's 2 3.5 inch drive bays remain open, this setup offers substantial storage capacity, combining a solid-state drive for speed with an SSD for essential data. Later, you can integrate these drives into a NAS system. Adding 40 TB of space would be a significant upgrade.
