I just completed Loz Botw and wanted to give Fallout a try since a friend started playing it too. I’m new to the genre and own both an Xbox and a budget PC, so I can enjoy it without issues. I’d like to play 3 or higher, preferably 3 or 4, because I’ve used the $2 for 2 months game pass deal.

I understand many folks will suggest new Vegas, but I believe Fallout 4 makes a stronger choice. Based on your setup, I’d opt for PC since mod support is important.

I wish I could say otherwise, but using Xbox would give you a much better feel. I tried Fallout 4 on PC with a controller for the first third, and the controls felt quite solid for the console.

I don't agree. If you prefer not to use VATS or at least steer clear of it, kb+m will consistently offer better performance. Personally, I find the full PC control more appealing, even without mods. I haven't used the console controls, but kb+m feels much more ideal. I suggest trying both. They differ enough so you can enjoy them in any sequence and appreciate their unique strengths and weaknesses. NV is older, but its story and options are excellent; for Fallout 4 it’s mechanically superior and offers more exploration. I loved both games, but spent significantly more time on Fallout 4. Fallout 3 is the least enjoyable for me, though others may disagree.

Experience a harsh post-apocalyptic world brimming with secrets and treasures in Fallout 3. Discover new Vegas for firearms and factions, earning praise as one of the top games. For a more structured MMO adventure, try Fallout 4, featuring auto-generated quests and dungeons.
