I recently assembled a PC and have been experiencing a minor problem.
Every other day, when I power it on, the system boots but appears to run slightly slower (a small lag). After roughly two minutes, the monitor screen turns black (no signal detected), and the computer restarts. Once it comes back online, everything functions normally throughout the day. I’ve played games, performed stress tests at full capacity, completed all benchmarks in 3DMark, and repeated the Stress Test multiple times (OCCT plus 3D Mark), with no issues found.
Where might this be coming from?
My configuration:
CPU: 9800X3D
Motherboard: MPG B850 EDGE TI WIFI
GPU: MSI RTX 5080
RAM: ADATA XPG Lancer Blade RGB, DDR5, 32 GB, 6000MHz, CL30
Storage: SSD Kingston Fury Renegade 2TB M.2 2280
PSU: Gigabyte Aorus Elite P 1000W 80 Plus Platinum ATX 3.1
Windows 11 24H2

Additional notes:
- Fast Startup (Windows option) is turned off
- Fast Boot in BIOS is disabled
- RAM profile set to EXPO 1 (4800 to 6000 MT/s)
I have the most recent BIOS installed
Other BIOS settings:
Global C-state Control: Auto
Power Supply Idle Control: Auto
ErP Ready: Disabled
Wake up Event via BIOS: Enabled

Today I adjusted these settings, but I’m uncertain if it will resolve the issue.

During testing and gameplay, the parts stay below 60 degrees Celsius, particularly when the machine starts up.

Have you tested MemTest86 on your RAM?
https://www.memtest86.com/
If a full test yields no issues, consider using an affordable SATA or M.2 storage and install Windows from scratch with your usual boot drive disconnected. This can clarify whether the problem lies in software or hardware.

I performed a memory test using the MemTest program. It ran for more than two hours, completed four full cycles, and finished with the 'pass' message – no errors. Before the test, I switched the Memory Context Restore setting in the BIOS from Auto to Disabled. The EMPO 1 profile remains active. I’m curious if turning off Memory Context Restore improves the results. I’ll continue testing. Unfortunately, I don’t have a second SSD available – I’d need to purchase one. 😕
[...]with your normal boot drive unplugged
Is there a method to detach the M.2 drive without taking it off the motherboard?
