What extent have you pushed your 6700K to its limits?
I recently purchased a 6700k and intend to boost its performance. How much have other 6700k users managed to achieve? Thanks!
My friend purchased a 6700k recently, and I assisted him in boosting its performance to 4.8 Ghz stable at 1.375 volts using an H100i GTX cooler. Damn that's impressive!
I've OCed mine to 5 ghz at around 1.43... I attempted to push it up to 5.2 but never achieved stability. It would crash during benchmarks, even if it managed to boot.
5 ghz stayed stable throughout the day, but the high voltage wasn't appealing, so I reduced it to 4.8 and then 4.6 just to lower the voltage significantly and achieve better temperatures. The performance gap between 4.6 and 4.8 was minimal, and the temperatures were roughly 10 degrees lower with the lower setting...

I operate at 4.7Ghz and 1.33V continuously, but my performance drops to only 4.8Ghz at 1.39V, which feels like a big jump for me.
I experimented with 4.8 Ghz using 1.4 volts, gradually increasing it to 1.5 to check stability. It only reaches a peak of 4.76 Ghz before crashing after a few minutes during stress testing. Temperatures averaged around 74°C under full load, with a high of 81°C recorded. At 4.7 Ghz and 1.38 volts, everything functions normally with an average temperature of 70°C and a peak of 76°C. It seems I didn’t get the result I hoped for. Hope this helps.
5GHZ
Go hard or go home—but not everyone has the power to run it on 1.480V.
I usually use 4.9 at 1.420V for continuous operation, but I have a profile for 5GHZ that’s ready whenever you need it, and it performs well.
