For five pounds I’d likely choose a 2700 over a 2600 if the situation was urgent, provided there were sufficient hardware to handle it. It won’t boost game performance but may allow running multiple programs simultaneously, possibly extending its operational life.
That's why I picked the 2700 at that point, thinking you'd probably appreciate the lower cost a bit more.
