According to this reasoning, the Linux kernel isn't the simplest option. Void and Slackware might be slightly simpler, but for a regular user the distinction doesn't matter much—if we really want minimalism, I'd recommend Crux instead.

I aimed for a simple frontend. I didn’t need to worry about the kernel. That should help!
