7800X3D is typically around this value. For various factors beyond speed, it seems to be a more suitable option overall.

It works consistently most of the time. Plus, it includes extra perks! Uses less than half the power of an i7, is simpler to cool, avoids the common issues seen in the 14th generation, and runs on a platform that's still receiving support.

Viewing it from 14700K, the performance difference leans toward a modest edge—up to 7800X3D could be slightly quicker, or even double in extreme cases. The latter is rare and mostly seen in simulations.

I focus mostly on beamng drives, so 7800x3d works for me.

7800x3d is one option, but there are other processors that can handle your game equally well. Just as there are various games available.

Beyond speed, an important consideration is that the 7800X3D fits into a slot offering real headroom for a more powerful CPU upgrade, without needing to replace the motherboard. In contrast, the 14700K is already very close to delivering top-tier gaming performance on its socket. This makes the 7800X3D another strong option.

I’d pick the 9700x over the 7800x3d. It’s more affordable, works well in single digits when powered fully, and unless your CPU is really lagging, you won’t notice much difference. The “tenth” line from AMD also offers additional cores, making the 9700x a solid choice without a big price jump—unless you find a great deal on an x3d chip.
