Ryzen offers a lower price, though I've had a recent negative experience with them. I haven't faced any issues with Intel yet. I'm considering switching to Intel.

For a 970, you won’t need a lot of processing power. Try to find the most affordable option near the 6600, I think. I’m sure others might disagree. That’s just my take.

One thing to note is that Skylake and Kabylake processors (6xxx and 7xxx series) are not compatible with CoffeeLake (8xxx) motherboards. The equivalent to the 6600k is the 8600k. (Unless something magically changed within the last year of BIOS updates I'm not aware of)

For a B360 board, focus on 8xxx series CPUs. If you haven't bought the motherboard yet and have time to change it, consider older models or Ryzen options that offer strong performance for their cost.

Be aware of this point. Any model with an 8xx number will likely be too much for a 970—but it will still let you upgrade your graphics later.
