What CPU cooler would you suggest for boosting an I5-4670k's performance?
I assembled my PC about six or seven years ago. The components are:
- 550w Corsair PSU
- Intel I5-4670k (never overclocked)
- Asus Z87-K motherboard
- GTX 770 2GB
- 16GB RAM (1600 Mhz, 8 x 2 sticks)
- Stock Intel CPU cooler
The cooler is somewhat damaged; some pins are broken, which makes it less secure against the CPU. This affects how closely the cooler fits. At around 41°C with a 4% load, and a fan speed of about 1209 RPM, my CPU operates. I’m wondering if overclocking is feasible with this stock cooler, aiming for at least 4.2Ghz or higher. If it seems unlikely, what alternative cooler would you suggest? With Black Friday approaching, I’d like to stay under £35. Please let me know if any details are missing so I can improve the post. Thanks all,
Nick
