Hi all.
I recently purchased an used RX 6800XT (PowerColor Red Devil) and haven’t been able to get the GPU to display anything. The previous owner mentioned they tested it on two different benches and it functioned perfectly before mine.
My current setup:
Ryzen 7 5800x
2x16gb DDR4
Asrock B450 pro4 (was running the latest BIOS but I went back to older versions for troubleshooting)
1tb ssd
750W PSU (Chieftech)
What I discovered so far:
I tried it on another bench with a better board, and my old RX 6700XT of the same brand and type also worked fine, but the 6800XT didn’t.
I explored various solutions like a CMOS reset, re-seating, using a different PCIe slot, but nothing helped. I have a GT 710 card to rule out any motherboard issues.
What I see:
The card’s LEDs are lighting up, and the two 8-pin pins are buzzing, which is likely due to their condition. They did the same on my old card and it worked perfectly. When I power down or start one of the fans for a millisecond, it still functions.
I’m 100% certain I can boot into the OS.
I’m running out of ideas, so I hope someone can suggest some solutions.

I would begin by acquiring a reliable power supply.

I think the issue isn't with the power supply since the suggested range is 750-850W and the card still works without heavy use.

Have you noticed the card functioning or are you relying solely on the sellers' statement? Did you purchase it directly or via a platform such as eBay?

The transaction was straightforward, and I observed the card functioning properly.

So you've used it on two different systems and two different power supplies, right? Which other power supply did you try it with?

I believe you've tested various cables, including HDMI and DP, and also checked multiple ports on the GPU.

As you have tried 2 different systems and 2 different PSUs it points to the gpu as having an issue. The buzzing from the original psu is a little worrying and I wouldn't be comfortable using that for any gpu really. If there is an issue with it then it could have damaged the card worst case.
I take it there is no option to send the gpu back to the seller or at least ask if you can test it again in their system?
Your original post suggested that you had to ask them about it working but you later said you had seen it working yourself. Was that when you collected it or was it via a video?
