According to what I've seen, the multiplayer mode is full of cheaters. I've played through all the games from 4 up to MW3 and it looked like this was common, particularly in Steamworks titles. It seems Activision assumed Valve could handle the issue, but we all know Valve is more interested in profiting from cheaters than fixing them.
Sure, I'm really struggling with the game. It's like my whole team is stuck in one place while the other side keeps shooting at us without ever needing to reload. I mostly play CSGO and usually don't accuse anyone of cheating—except teammates whose actions I can spot. Over 400 hours, I've only reported five people for cheating. Actually, I've reported more for griefing than for cheating.
I just tried it yesterday. It seems your server list might not be current. Look it up online for others' experiences. The game is still active with a few hundred servers available.
