I recall playing a Rayman title on my old grandpa’s computer (no graphics card). It probably came bundled with the system, likely running XP or Vista between 2003 and 2006. It was almost certainly a side-scrolling version.

It doesn’t offer much detail. Was there a specific story, moment, or character you recall? You can also look up the Rayman games on Wikipedia for more information.

I only came up with ideas about Rayman gold being a side-scroller on Windows. The other possibility I considered is unlikely, but there were versions of Vectorman and Vectorman 2 on many Sega collection CDs that probably just landed on CD drives by chance. Rayman 3 was also available on Windows, though it wasn't a side-scroller; the demo was everywhere and I really enjoyed playing it.

I believe the time frame points to Rayman 1, 2 or 3. The only side-scrolling title among them is OG Rayman.
